The Chapter Technology Transfer Committee (CTTC) provides efficient and effective transfer of current and relevant information throughout the HVAC&R industry to and from the Chapters. CTTC develops and maintains high quality and readily available tools to enable Chapters to offer information and attractive industry-related information and programs to all segments within the HVAC&R industry. CTTC reports to the Members Council.
ASHRAE Government Affairs staff regularly tracks activities within Congress. and Federal, State and Provincial legislative bodies. Access Position Documents, issue briefs, letters, and testimony on key policy areas of interest to ASHRAE.
Historical Committee sponsors, encourages and conducts research into the history of heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration; encourages authorship and publication of historical articles locates, identifies and determines location for display or availability of items of historical significance; and encourages regional and chapter historians to gather historical information and artifacts. Membership Promotion Committee publicizes the aims, activities, achievements, and scientific and educational purposes of the Society to encourage qualified persons to apply for membership. Nominating Committee selects candidates for elected officers and members of the Board of Directors. This committee reports directly to the ASHRAE membership.
The Research Promotion Committee plans and implements programs within the Society to generate funds to support ASHRAE research, YEA, Education (ALI), ASHRAE Foundation, Scholarships, and the General Fund. This committee reports to Members Council.
The Student Activities Committees encourages student interests of all grade levels into our industry. This has many avenues including student competitions between universities and STEM programs for K-12. Student activities committee reports to the Members Council.
The Young Engineers in ASHRAE (YEA) committee shall enhance member benefits for young professional ASHRAE members, 35 years old and younger, by identifying, creating, and supporting activities and services focused on their needs. A primary focus of the committee will be attracting and developing YEA members for future membership and leadership in ASHRAE and the HVAC&R industry.
